Laurelhurst Main Floor Remodel

 2020

This 1970s remodel was truly enjoyable. My clients aimed to pay homage to the house's history while infusing it with their own modern twist. Collaborating with an architect, we orchestrated the removal of multiple walls to create an open, inviting space. We selected new hardwoods for the entire upper level and incorporated contemporary lighting fixtures from Dunn Brown, injecting a vibrant color palette. The elongated hexagonal tiles in the kitchen and laundry room seamlessly complemented the new style. We decided to retain the classic 1970s front entry tiles and the original front door, which received a fresh coat of paint. In the stairway, we opted to replace the old wood paneling with an updated wood accent wall. The transformation is truly stunning!
